Passengers on BA flights can now check in, and view real time arrivals and departures information, using a website configured specifically for mobile phones.
The service can be accessed at ba.com/mobile, and is available in 11 languages. Customers can check in and select seats, as well as consult the BA timetable in real time.Theoretically there had previously been nothing preventing passengers with internet-enabled mobile phones from accessing the full version of the BA website, although BA points out that “in practice most phones were unable to use ba.com's online check-in before due to the difference in technologies supported on computers and mobile phones”.
Lufthansa recently launched a similar service at mobile.lufthansa.com (see online news April 25).
