Thistle Bloomsbury revamp

24 Oct 2008 by Mark Caswell

The Thistle Bloomsbury Hotel is getting a £9.7m revamp, and has reverted to its original name, The Kingsley.

Thistle says the hotel is going back to its original title “as a mark of its literary heritage to the author Charles Kingsley and the Bloomsbury Set”. Located on Bloomsbury Way between Tottenham Court Road and Holborn underground stations, The Kingsley by Thistle will have 42 new deluxe and executive rooms available by mid-November, featuring flatscreen TVs and wifi internet access.

The hotel’s public areas are also due to be revamped, including the front of house and reception areas, and a new bar and fine dining restaurant. The property’s Victorian facade is also being restored.

Thistle is currently investing £100m rebranding and upgrading its UK hotels (see online news January 26).
