Pegasus ups Stansted-Istanbul frequency

13 Oct 2008 by Mark Caswell

Turkish airline Pegasus has increased its London-Istanbul (and onwards to North Cyprus) service to five times per week.

The carrier added a fourth weekly flight in September, and now plies the route five times per week following the addition of a Friday service from October 1.

Flights now depart every day except Saturday and Tuesday, leaving Stansted at 1315 (1305 Wed, Thurs and Sun), arriving into Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen airport at 1850. The return leg leaves Turkey at 1040 (1030 Wed, Thurs and Sun), landing back into London at 1225. The same flight also connects on to North Cyprus, with a 1940 departure, arriving into Ercan airport at 2105.

Pegasus competes with Easyjet (from Luton), Turkish Airlines (from Heathrow and Stansted) and BA (from Heathrow) on the London-Istanbul route. Prices start from £40 one-way.
