BA launches online upgrades from LHR

7 Oct 2008 by Mark Caswell

BA passengers can now purchase “before they fly” upgrades on European and long-haul flights departing Heathrow.

Customers can now buy upgrades online after they have purchased their tickets, to Club Europe on European flights, or World Traveller Plus on long-haul routes. The upgrades cost between £100 and £150 one-way for European routes, and between £150 and £250 on long-haul flights.

This option to upgrade after having bought your ticket has been available to Gatwick passengers since March 2007, but up until now the opportunity to upgrade for those departing Heathrow had to be taken at the point of purchase.

Passengers can access the upgrade option for their flight at ba.com/managemybooking, or via the email alert sent by BA before the flight. Note that unlike Gatwick flights, where passengers can opt to upgrade at check-in, Heathrow customers can only do so online.
