Langham Hotels International has announced its first Indian property, a 180-room hotel in the western city of Pune.
The Langham Place, Koregaon Park, Pune is due to open in 2010, and will feature an eye-catching atrium with palm trees, resident DJ and "transparent walls" - floor to ceiling glass panels, some of which stretch as much as three storeys high.
The hotel also plans to combine its lobby lounge, cocktail bar and business centre in one area called Portal, where "work and play seamlessly intertwine to meet the needs of today's multi-tasking world".
Initial plans for the building feature the Club L Lounge, the hotel's executive lounge area, with one side of the lounge open to the elements (although the area will be recessed into the building to protect guests).
There will also be a Chuan Spa with oriental hot tubs, ice caves, herbal steam rooms, single and double treatment rooms, and an infinity pool. Dining options include a Chinese restaurant, Indian Tapas tea lounge, and The Place Theatre Brasserie for all-day dining.
