IHG will open its first hotel in Ukraine this December, when it unveils the Intercontinental Kiev.
The 286-room hotel is located on the city’s St Michael’s Square, and will include a rooftop bar, spa, health club, three restaurants, a casino and a conference centre.
Rooms feature flatscreen TVs, separate bath and shower and complimentary wifi internet access, while the 212 sqm Royal Suite overlooks St Michael’s and St Sophia’s cathedrals, and includes a separate kitchen and dining room.
Dining options include Comme Il Faut for a formal French and European dining experience, and Oliviera for Italian and Mediterranean fare. The property will feature two grand ballrooms, capable of accommodating up to 800 delegates.
The hotel is due to open in late December, although the spa, health club and swimming pool will not be completed until April 2009.
IHG has a total of three hotels under development in the Ukranian capital (which will host the final of the European Football Championships in 2012). The other two are the Holiday Inn Kiev, due to open at the end of 2009, and the Crowne Plaza Kiev, slated for a 2012 launch.
