luxury Conrad brand will open its first property in mainland China at the end
of this year.

Shanghai is located in the Xintiandi area of the city, and will feature 362
rooms, all with 42-inch flatscreen TVs and open plan bathrooms with rain
The hotel’s striking
curved-glass exterior has been designed using “window wall patterns” in Chinese granite, based on
traditional Chinese latticework from the Han Dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD).
a total of six restaurants and bars to choose from, including the all-day
dining Darling Downs, featuring a show kitchen and serving modern Australian
cuisine, and Wabi Sabi, with a sushi and sashimi counter and Japanese grill.
meetings there are nine functions rooms catering for between eight and 170
delegates, plus a ballroom accommodating up to 600 guests. The wellness zone
includes Qin Spa, as well as a gym and indoor pool.
Shanghai is due to open this December, and will join the brand’s other Asian
properties in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok
and The Maldives.
