Easyjet launches Gatwick-Istanbul route

3 Sep 2008 by Mark Caswell

Low-cost carrier Easyjet will launch daily flights from London Gatwick to Istanbul this winter, complementing its existing service from Luton airport to the Turkish city.

Flights start on December 12, with the outbound leg departing Gatwick at 0745, arriving into Istanbul at 1335. The return leg leaves Istanbul at 1405, arriving back in London at 1605.

Easyjet is using Sabiha Gokcen airport (located on the Asian side of the city) for both its new flights and the existing route from Luton. British Airways flies from Heathrow into Ataturk International airport on the European side, while Turkish Airlines has flights from both Heathrow and Stansted into Ataturk.

Flights on the new Gatwick-Istanbul route start from £58.98 return. For more information visit easyjet.com.
