30 Aug 2008 by Mark Caswell

Intercontinental Hotel Group has opened the Crowne Plaza Manchester City Centre, joining the brand’s existing airport property in the city.

The new-build hotel is situated on Shudehill in the Northern Quarter of the city, and features 228 rooms, all with free wifi internet access, flatscreen TVs and separate bath and shower.

There are nine function rooms, the largest of which can accommodate 200 delegates theatre-style, and again featuring free wifi.

The hotel is located within walking distance of the MEN arena, Arndale shopping centre and Victoria and Piccadilly train stations, and around nine miles from Manchester International airport, where Crowne Plaza has an established hotel close to the terminal building.
