Rezidor continues Russian expansion

21 Aug 2008 by Sara Turner

The Rezidor Hotel Group has announced plans to open three new hotels in Russia.

The 173-room Park Inn Volgograd is scheduled to open in spring 2010, followed by the Park Inn Kaliningrad, with 276 rooms, in early 2011. The Radisson Grand Hotel Rostov-on-Don, with 520 rooms, will open mid 2011. All three are new-builds.

The Park Inn Volgograd will be located alongside the river Volga, close to the city centre, and is one of the key stops on the route of city cruises. The train station, with links to Moscow, Ukraine, the Caucasus and Siberia, is seven kilometres away, while Volgograd international airport is 14 kilometres away. The hotel will offer a restaurant, two bars, and 1,000 sqm of conference space.

The Park Inn Kaliningrad will be situated in the heart of the city, next to the Radisson SAS Kaliningrad – which is due to open in 2009, and 24 kilometres from Kaliningrad airport. Services will include a restaurant, a lobby bar and lounge, a fitness centre, a Paulaner mini-brewery and more than 1,500 sqm of conference space.

The Radisson Grand Hotel Rostov-on-Don will follow the opening of the Radisson SAS Don Hotel in Rostov-on-Don in April this year. The Grand Hotel will be located on the city’s main promenade overlooking the River Don. It will feature two restaurants, a Sky bar, a Lounge bar and 1,900 sqm of meeting space, plus a fitness centre with spa and pool.

Rezidor has announced a whole raft of new hotels in recent months, in the UK (see online news, April 15), Norway, Spain, Belgium, Abu Dhabi and Morocco.
