IHG announces Crowne Plaza Riyadh

Intercontinental Hotels Group is to open its second Crowne Plaza in Saudi Arabia in 2010. The Crowne Plaza Riyadh will feature over 300 rooms and suites, and will be located between the airport and city centre.

The property will also offer 800 sqm of meeting space, including a 450 sqm Banqueting Hall, as well as three restaurants and a health centre. The Crowne Plaza Riyadh will join three Holiday Inn properties already open in the city.

Radisson SAS unveils Jordanian property

The Rezidor Hotel Group has opened its first property in Jordan – the Radisson SAS Tala Bay Resort, Aqaba. Located in the southern region of Jordan on the shores of the Aqaba Gulf, the hotel has 336 rooms, all with balconies.

The resort offers several eating options including outdoor mediterranean restaurant Heatwave and all-day dining eatery Aziab. Other facilities include five heated swimming pools, an outdoor fitness centre, and two meeting rooms for business travellers.

Movenpick to open first Libyan hotel

Movenpick Hotels and Resorts has announced a hotel and serviced apartment project to open in Libya in 2010. The Movenpick Hotel Diar Assalam will be located in Tripoli, and will feature 320 rooms and suites, as well as 213 serviced apartments.

There will also be a conference hall for 400 delegates, a spa complex, and several restaurants and bars. The hotel will form part of a larger waterfront complex, including a commercial centre and yacht club.
