Qantas is currently offering a promotional fare of just £380 (including taxes and charges) for a return trip on its forthcoming A380 route from London to Sydney.
The airline will launch its A380 aircraft this October, when it begins serving Los Angeles from both Sydney and Melbourne with the superjumbo. It will then receive delivery of a second A380 in November, followed by a third in early 2009, which will enable it to serve three flights a week between London and Sydney with the aircraft.
To celebrate the launch of the A380 on the UK to Australia route, Qantas is offering a limited number of economy class tickets for just £380, including taxes and charges. The tickets must be booked by midnight on June 17 (subject to availability), for travel between March 18 and April 30, 2009.
The first Qantas A380 will operate two return services each week between Australia and Los Angeles – one from Melbourne and one from Sydney, from October 24. The second delivery will up these flights to two return Melbourne-Los Angeles A380 services each week – QF93 on Mondays and Wednesdays, with the return QF94 operating the same nights; and three return Sydney-Los Angeles services – QF11 on Wednesdays, Friday and Sundays, with the return QF12 also operating the same nights.
Finally the third delivery will enable the carrier to fly three return London-Sydney A380 services each week – QF32 on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with the return QF31 operating Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The Qantas A380 will be configured with 450 seats – 14 first class suites, 72 in business, 32 in premium economy cabin and 332 in economy. For more information on the seating products being offered onboard the carrier’s superjumbo, see online news July 25, 2007.
