Holiday Inn has announced a new-build hotel in Chennai, 35 years after the brand first appeared in India’s third largest city.
The Holiday Inn Estancia Chennai will feature 200 rooms and 75 suites, and will be located in the 82-acre Estancia Integrated Township, a mixed-use development and technology park. The development is situated 35 km south of the city centre along Highway 45.
The Holiday Inn brand debuted in Chennai (then known as Madras) in 1973, before the hotel was rebranded in the late 1970s. There are currently 15 Holiday Inn properties in development across India, which will add nearly 4,000 rooms in 12 cities over the next three years.
