Virgin unveils new Boston Clubhouse

6 Mar 2008 by Mark Caswell

Virgin Atlantic has opened a new £1 million Clubhouse at Boston’s Logan International airport, with room for up to 75 passengers.

The new executive lounge has been designed by Boston-based architectural firm Bergmeyer Architects, in collaboration with Virgin’s in-house design team. There is free wifi throughout, and the Clubhouse is divided into zones – the Library and Business Centre, the Lounge, the Brasserie, and the Deli.

The Lounge area includes newspapers and magazines, hot and cold beverage stations, and “grab and go food”, with leather and mohair banquette seating. The Brasserie is an informal dining area with long benches and Bertoia chairs, while the Deli has a regionally-inspired menu. There is a separate Library relaxation area, and the Business Centre includes facilities to charge mobile phones, mp3 players and PDAs.

Virgin flies daily between London and Boston, with the outbound flight leaving the UK at 1440 and arriving in the US at 1705. The return leg departs Boston at 1945 and lands into Heathrow at 0715 the next morning.
