One Alfred Place opens

8 Feb 2008 by Mark Caswell

One Alfred PlaceA new private members club has opened in London, designed specifically for business use.

Located close to Tottenham Court Road, One Alfred Place offers people a place to work, hold meetings and give presentations, in an environment which offers all the benefits of a private club.

The club itself has large communal spaces with bespoke furniture, and over 50 original works of art from Andy Warhol to Barbara Hepworth. Other features include meeting rooms, presentation suites, workstations, a bar and restaurant area (although members and their guests are free to eat anywhere within the club), “quiet rooms”, a locker room and storage facility, showers, and a "sleep cabin" for the weary traveller.

For a fee of £1,500 per year (plus £150 joining fee), members get unlimited use of the club and its facilities, which include free wifi, printers, scanners and faxes, club laptops, phone chargers, food and drink on request, and a free personal extension on the club’s 0207 number. In addition a club PA is available to help guests with any queries.

Rob Shreeve, founder and CEO, says: “There’s a huge gap in the market for a new kind of business venue which combines the best of a private members club with the facilities of a dedicated London office. The club offering is a concept that will work well elsewhere in London, across the UK, Europe and eventually globally – it’s our aim to introduce a new club every nine to 12 months.”

One Alfred Place is open during extended working hours (five days a week from 7am to 9pm). For more information visit onealfredplace.com.
