Six new properties for Rezidor

21 Nov 2007 by Mark Caswell

The Rezidor Hotel Group has announced six new or rebranded properties, with locations ranging from the Ukraine to Portugal and the UK.

The first to see the light of day will be the Park Inn St Helens. Currently trading as the Hilton St Helens, the 84-room property will be rebranded as a Park Inn on Dec 1. The hotel has eight meeting rooms, and a health club and swimming pool, and is located around ten miles east of Liverpool.

Moving across the channel, an existing boutique hotel in Paris’ 16th arrondissement will be rebranded as the Radisson Hotel, Paris, in autumn 2008. The hotel joins four other Rezidor properties already in the greater Paris area, and it will also be one of the smallest hotels in the Rezidor group at just 45 rooms.

The other four properties are all due to open in 2009, with The Radisson Hotel Portimao and the Radisson Residence Portimao located near to the southern Portuguese city. The first will have 192 rooms, conference facilities, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and tennis courts, while the latter will comprise 160 serviced apartments.

The Radisson Resort, Bolshaya Yalta (on the Crimean Southern Coast of Ukraine), will have 450 rooms (250 of which will open in 2009, with the rest slated for 2010), with features including a spa, private beach, and indoor and outdoor pools. Finally the Radisson Hotel Brno will be Rezidor’s fourth hotel in the Czech Republic, and will have 117 rooms and suites, a restaurant, bar, spa and health club.

Regular readers will notice the lack of “SAS” at the end of any of the new Radisson properties – these hotels will still be in the same vein as previous Radisson SAS hotels, but the “SAS” is gradually disappearing from the name following Rezidor’s IPO by Carlson Hotels Worldwide last year.
