Luxury Hotel Group the Eton Collection grows from five to fifteen

16 Aug 2007 by business traveller

Boutique hotel group the Eton Collection will be adding 10 more hotels across Europe to its luxury brand.

The new hotels include The Berners Hotel off Oxford Street in London, due to re-open at the end of next year as a five-star boutique hotel in a similar style to Threadneedles (see review, Business Traveller October 2005), one of the collection's original London hotels.

The UK collection will also welcome 42 The Calls in Leeds and The Scotsman in Edinburgh while other European properties include three in Paris (Hotel de Vigny, Hotel Balzac and La Temoille), one in Vienna (the Grand Hotel Wein) and two in Portugal, The Pineheiros Altos Golf Resort and the soon to be completed five-star Royal Algarve Hotel and Spa. Plans for this luxury resort include the addition of a 27-hole championship golf course.

The rapid increase in properties comes after Saudi hotel group JJW Hotels & Resorts acquired the collection. Managing director of the Eton Collection, Peter Tyrie will still front the group, taking on the ten new properties and bringing them inline with the brand's design and top-class service ethos.

The five original Eton Collection hotels include three in London (Threadneedles in the City, the Colonnade in Little Venice and The Academy in Bloomsbury) as well as Quebecs in Leeds and The Glasshouse in Edinburgh.
