Etihad is the latest Gulf airline to land in Italy's business capital. The Abu Dhabi-based carrier will launch a three times a week service into Milan Malpensa from September 2. It will provide more opportunities for global travellers to reach Northern Italy and vice versa.
Flight EY081 will depart Abu Dhabi every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 0225 arriving in Milan at 0705. Return flight EY088 departs at 1245 reaching Abu Dhabi at 2055. Services will be operated by Airbus A330-200s configured for 10 passengers in first, 26 in business and 164 in economy class.
Says Etihad chief executive James Hogan: "In addition to providing a direct route to the UAE, our Italian passengers will benefit from Etihad's expanding global network of destinations, with convenient onward connections across the Middle East, South Africa and the Asia-Pacific region proving especially popular."
Milan is already served by Emirates from Dubai and Qatar Airways from Doha. From the end of June, Emirates will expand its presence in Northern Italy with a new service linking Dubai with Venice.
