The Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel reopens next month, after a year long, £8 million refurbishment. Located a few minutes from Knightsbridge underground station (with direct links to London Heathrow), the boutique hotel is just yards from its larger sister property the Jumeirah Carlton Tower.
The hotel's 87 bedrooms are decorated in soft colours such as ivory, taupe and lilac, with stone bathrooms. Each room has a king size bed, flat screen TV, DVD player, high speed internet access, two separate telephone lines, an iPod dock/clock radio, coffee and tea making facilities and mini-bar. There are also four one-bedroom Executive suites on the sixth floor, two of which have balconies overlooking Belgravia, and one Luxury suite on the fifth floor.
The new Mimosa Bar & Restaurant offers guests a Mediterranean menu, with the option of alfresco dining on Lowndes Square. Jumeirah has also partnered with Temple Spa to offer guests in-room spa treatments and skin therapy kits. But the real bonus is that guests of the Lowndes can also enjoy the leisure facilities at the Carlton Towers, which include the Peak Health Club & Spa, a 20m indoor swimming pool, and tennis courts set in private gardens.
The Jumeirah Lowndes reopens in early November, with room rates starting from £210. The hotel also has a special opening offer: book by December 31, 2006 and stay before February 28, 2007 to receive a £35 Temple Spa gift.
