Steigenberger is to open its first UK hotel in London's iconic Scotland Yard building.
The German group will operate a luxury hotel in the former police headquarters from 2017.
The 8,550 sqm property is being developed by Galliard Homes and is due to open in the first quarter of that year.
It is owned by Abu Dhabi-based Lulu Group International, which has bought the site at 1-5 Great Scotland Yard for £110 million.
The address was the location of the original Scotland Yard building from 1829 to 1890.
Steigenberger will open its first property in the Middle East next year with a hotel in Doha (see news, June 2014).
