Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson's firm Cardiff Aviation has announced it is launching a new airline.
The carrier will operate as VVB and is currently acquiring an operating licence from the European Safety Agency (EASA).
The first aircraft to join VVB will be a B737-400 with at least another two jets expected to be added by the end of September.
Dickinson set up Cardiff Aviation as a maintenance company for jets in 2012.
He told walesonline.co.uk: "In the last two years we've grown relentlessly, thanks to our unique entrepreneurial style of MRO and training. We're now looking to bring that approach to the airline market with VVB.
"This is a huge opportunity to create new jobs and further increase our already impressive roster of services."
Dickinson first gained a licence to pilot light aircraft in 1991, before eventually obtaining a commercial pilot licence and flying aircraft for British World Airlines and then Icelandic charter carrier Astraeus, both of which went bust.
