Haneda to standardise hand-carry rules

Tokyo’s Haneda airport, which handles mostly domestic flights, will introduce new baggage regulations from December 1.

Currently each airline applies different baggage rules for different aircraft . However, under new common regulations carry-on bags must weigh no more than 10kg and be no more than 45 cm tall, 20 cm wide and 35 cm deep for a plane with less than 100 seats.

For larger aircraft, the dimensions are 55×25×40 cm.

The new regulations will be adopted by 17 carriers, including JAL, ANA, Air Do, Skynet Asia Airways and Skymark Airlines.
