    Simon, SPG Starwood also run offers throughout the year to double dip points when booking certain hotels, albeit if you get to their Platinum status dont opt for Suite Nights as they are basically a nonsense and cant be redeemed and to be fair 90-95% of the time am upgraded to a suite anyways

    A tip if I may capetonianm, a few years ago I had an issue in South Africa where I thought I was on wifi and wasnt and my data bill back to Singapore was huge…

    I went absolutely ape with them telling them I had not received notice of consumption which is a pre requisite, in other words you should have received SMS from your provider telling you of your consumption. If these were not received shout merry “bloody” hell as your argument will be that you had no idea of the consumption this is “bill shock” and you will be seeking legal council on it …..

    Who is the provider??

    I hear what you are saying SwissExPat but your argument doesn’t necessarily ring true in the US where you are expected to pay a tip on potentially shoddy service. If you have a particularly poor experience will you a) reduce the tip or b) not pay a tip I doubt it as the “expectation” is to pay??

    To the original point I like to make the decision to recognise good service I do not like the expectation that I have to come what may!!

    I guess the question from me, is why are they always so far behind their competitors which makes them the “me too” airline as opposed to being out there??

    Wifi has been available on most airlines for ages and I cannot believe they only have it on 5 aircraft!!

    I cannot believe I contribute to a forum full of old miserable men……. Which I hasten to add I am one of 🙂 …I so agree with you capetonianm what is the world coming too when you cant hear your self think over the noise of muzak!!!!!!!
