Numerous sites including BoardingPass.news this afternoon announced that WOW will fly again.

It is official: WOW air will fly again.

Michele Ballarin and USAerospace Associates LLC has bought the remains (branding, IT systems) of the fallen WOW air that suspended ops in March 2019 and will restart the company in October this year.

The inaugural flight will be in October, from the new base at IAD to KEF!

“WOW 2” will be focusing on air cargo as well, Michele Ballarin mentioned that the icelandic fish export will help on this matter.

Ballarin also said that the branding of the company will remain unchanged and will hire flight crew in Iceland while the management team will be based in Washington, DC as well in Keflavik, Iceland.

WOW air will operate under US AOC two aircraft. Next summer the fleet will grow to 4 and then up to 10-12 aircraft.

They are considering both Airbus and Boeing aircraft but wasn’t mentioned if widebody or narrow body aircraft will be used on WOW’s operations.

Airline’s initial budget is 85 million USD.

    This from yesterday

I just scanned the report but if I read correctly they are going to be based out of the US Dulles International and be some sort of hybrid outfit offering on board catering by Michelin-starred chefs etc. On a budget airline ?
