We hear a lot about the chaos at LHR but Bloomberg are ranking it only 15th worst in Europe for delays and cancellations. Their Worst 10 ranking makes interesting reading:

Interestingly four Spanish airports feature in the top ten most punctual.
That would match with my experience of flying in Spain. Well run airports and on time airlines.

I gather that staffing is not so much of an issue in Spain but also the top ten are mostly much more smaller operations than LHR, FRA and AMS. I did hear that BA wanted to bring in a whole load of staff from Spain to ease the problems but were denied the work visa waiver to do so. One of the many post-Brexit consequences now becoming visible after they are no longer masked by the pandemic. 🙄
