Wizz Air’s business plan is all about “moving capacity around.”

But on this occasion this Hungarian-based low-cost airline, listed on the London Stock Exchange, is having to react to public opinion.

On August 9 the FT (paywall) reported that Wizz Air (Abu Dhabi) would be restarting its Abu Dhabi-Moscow route from October.

The route had been suspended by Wizz Air since 2020.

But because of heavy criticism and threats to boycott the carrier Wizz Air (Abu Dhabi) has abandoned the plan less than a fortnight later.

Reuters reports that the official reason from Wizz Air is “industry supply chain limitations.”
