News is emerging via ch-aviation.com that Antwerp-based VLM will close its loss-making Dutch subsidiary by the end of this year.

Some UK routes may be affected.

Note that this concerns the Dutch and not the Belgian part of VLM.

What a shame. I was one of their first passengers on the Rotterdam – LCY route and knew the pilots personally as they had obtained their twin rating on my plane. They’d put me in the front row and give me a headset with a long extension (no jumpseat available) so I could listen and converse with them. Those were the days!
