Virgin to mix economy and Upper Class on Boeing 747

    I wonder if Virgin will charge extra for economy passengers to sit in the bubble on these 747s then?

    This is awful. What a strange configuration. Even worse than Mid J configuration on some BA aircraft with World Traveller Plus after First and then Club, this Virgin upper deck idea however, is really bizarre. What about the greatest perk of Business Class being privacy. And I would like to see how the poor crew will be able to ensure the Upper Class folks get off the plane first, not likely!

    Agree, not really a great enough space to mix classes.
    Better to reserve this well valued area, for one class or another.
    If Business Customers are downgrading & many self paying travellers are upgrading (they seem to be 70% + in the Business cabins on SQ these days), would make more sense to push the Premium economy, & tempt both markets.
    At the moment, on long haul these are the customers filling the premium seats on many Airlines…
