Most unusually (though possibly/probably connected to the latest Unite ballot announcement), Virgin have broken cover with a worldwide Economy and Premium Economy Sale before the rest of the market:

Fares include New York from a fairly standard £349 exLON, and a competitive £799 for Sydney.

Premium Economy fares are from £649 and £1499 respectively.

Booking deadline is 18 January 2011, and it will be very interesting to see how BA respond; particularly as their sale usually begins on Boxing Day and they have tended to shun promotions during ballot periods.

AF KL DL are usually next to the party though, so watch out for new campaigns from them in the coming days!
