Return flight at end of holiday. Only VS passenger on airport transfer so had individual escort to check-in. VS meet&greet and check-in agent very friendly, everything done in under 5 minutes.

VS gate staff very efficient in organising priority boarding.

Cabin crew greeting not as good as outbound flight. Had extra legroom seat 51H which was fine except for seat padding which was very thin. Blanket, pillow, amenity kit and water all supplied.

Food and drink very good, although the jasmine rice with the chicken teriyaki was undercooked. Water and juice supplied during the night. Had to ask for pre-ordered duty free but this was sorted out promptly.

However, there was an incident on board that should have been handled with more authority. Row 49 is extra legroom and passengers use the space in front of the central 4 seats as a pathway across the aircraft. Despite a passenger in one of these seats asking for an announcement to be made, it was not delivered in the same authoritative tone as the outbound flight.

As a result, there was an altercation between the passenger requesting the announcement and the guy in 49B (why didn't he go to the toilet at the back of the plane?). I've sat in such seats with other airlines where this type of announcement has not been made and been trampled on. One of the male cabin crew made a discreet note of seat numbers, so it was probably included in the flight report.

I enjoyed my first flights with Virgin and will travel with them again, although an upgrade to premium economy would be my choice.
