What are travel adaptors used for these days?

It’s one of the most useful gadgets that I own. Means I only carry a single laptop cable and my adaptor has 2 USB charge sockets on place. Most useful in places like Switzerland or China for example, where the plugs are completely different but I also use it worldwide.
The USB charging section can be removed and plugged into bedside sockets to be used to charge and display my phone which is always used as an alarm clock on travels.
    Since I normally travel with:
    Laptop
    I pad
    3 x smartphones
    Personal tablet
    Rechargeable headphones

    It’s a very useful tool.

    I travel with

    **lap top

    ** ipod touch

    **2 blackberrys + a spare

    **an electric shaver

All need wires of their own anyway.

You still need a plug on the unit to plug into the adapter. I also have a small USB plug adapter which is a lot smaller than the adapter…

I guess I find an adapter limiting and bulky. Where I would find it useful would be if the adapter contained all the wires needed… but then the unit will become bigger and heavier…
