Hasn’t this discussion gone on for long enough with everyone making their points of view known?

We all know that this is incorrect :

Also to my knowledge there is no requirement by DOT for US airlines to advise passengers of their rights. Unlike EC261 where airlines are required to do so.

Of course you are entitled to a refund, in US you claim it, in EU you should be offered it.
