    The terrorist threat level specific to major UK transport hubs has been raised from substantial to severe, the BBC understands.

    The move includes airports and London railway terminals, although there is no suggestion of any intelligence of an imminent attack.

    Don’t believe everything you read on the BBC:

    ==========================

    “The threat level to the U.K. is at severe, which means that an attack is highly likely, and it has been there since January 2010,” a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.

    “We never discuss security. We never say its been stepped up or stepped down — so I really don’t know where this has come from”

    Yes, I thought it was a rather scaremongering story.

    Probably put out to divert attention from the sentencing of a Labour MP for expenses fraud on what is otherwise shaping up to be a rather slow news day.
