“Shares in the troubled carrier fell 8.20 per cent, or 3.91p, this morning — making it the biggest FTSE faller — following reports that the European Commmission had concluded that the planned tie-up, would “likely … result in appreciable competitive harm” on seven Europe/US routes.”

A perfect opportunity to purchase 200 shares in order to be on the register for 6 November 2009 and be eligible for the 10% shareholder discount.

At current prices, 200 shares cost about £400, and are an excellent bargain which allows you about £250 off a return http://www.newclubworld.com fare to Sydney.

Even taking into account the above adjustment, BAY.L shares are up almost 40% this quarter:

With the strike looming, & share value less than its pension deficit, it would not be considered a sound financial investment

Thats even if they were able to keep their flights running towards Xmas.No Airline in the world has such a bad reputation at the moment, let alone its staff teams morale through the floor. Such an unhappy Company, rotten from the top, & customers are leaving in droves, as they demonstrate on BT!

I’m going to wait until BA is languishing around the £1 mark before swooping in and making a purchase.
It’s going to get worse for BA before it gets better. This isn’t going to be the last strike.
