capetonianmParticipantI currently look after the travel arrangements of a high net worth individual and his family, but it will soon encompass the travel requirements of a company they have acquired, and thus will require more time than I am willing to give it, mainly because it is going to require a 24/7 service desk for changes out of time zone etc.
I am therefore looking for a reliable travel management company who can source the most appropriate tickets (not necessarily the cheapest), adhere to policies, produce reports, and who have a 24/7 service desk for changes/last minute bookings which is in the UK and staffed by native level English speakers and who are not just order-takers.
Some of you may have recommendations (or the contrary) and whilst it is probably against the rules of this forum to post such suggestions publicly, maybe you could PM me (not sure how to do that? – is it possible).
I do know that one of our contributors here runs a TMC but I have no idea how to contact him.
Thanks in advance.

MartynSinclairParticipantThe person in question is excellent and I would be happy to personally recommend him as I am sure others are on this Forum. He is also extremely modest and willing to help with no expectations of business.
He has said before that he uses his real name and you can find him on linkedin…

capetonianmParticipantThanks Martyn, I have found him with a Google search (I don’t have a LinkedIn account). I had already worked out from his contributions here what sort of person he is, exactly what I would be looking for, and his geographic location is a good match too.
My concern is the effectiveness of the 24/7 service offered by the organisation, given that the individual cannot operate 24/7/365. I will look further into this, and meantime, thank you again.
(As an aside, someone I know was using a TMC in South Africa who supplied an ‘after hours’ emergency number. They didn’t realise, until the first time they needed to use it, that it was a local South African ‘sharecall’ 0861 number which you can only dial from within ZA. Pretty useless for a company specialising in international business travel. A few minutes using my contacts found me the MD’s home number and he was woken from his slumbers at stupid o’clock on a Sunday morning…..
Needless to say the TMC was changed)19 Dec 2017

penfold69ParticipantThere are many TMC’s out there who offer great service and a 24hr team. The size and amount of business you are talking about, should help you narrow down who to steer towards. Some of the smaller TMC’s are great at servicing business with under £5m annual spend etc, but you might need one of the larger TMC’s if it’s 10’s of millions of £’s. The best TMC I have worked with is based in London with a Scottish sounding name. They even have their own coat of arms. Very good with high end clients, and quite proactive when things go wrong.
