Talk of a tie-up is gaining credulity:

InterContinental and Marriott are two of the world’s biggest hotel players. FTSE 100-listed Intercontinental runs over 4,500 hotels worldwide including New York’s Barclay while America’s Marriott operates 3,700 properties.

Were you being ironic, VK, or did you mean to say “gaining credibility”? Gaining credulity would mean something very different… (credulity: gullibility; readiness or willingness to believe especially on slight or uncertain evidence)

    Ironic.

I can’t see it happening myself. Though some sort of co-operation/oneworld type loyalty tie up makes sense.

There are several parts of the world where each brand is weak, and there’s plenty of opportunity for consolidation.
