We booked our holiday in May 2012 flying to Sanford on the Dreamliner. This holiday was our son’s 21st birthday present. Unfortunately we were informed that the Dreamliner was unable to fly, so we decided to upgrade to Premium Class seats. WHAT A MISTAKE !! and waste of money. We were informed that we were booked on Row 5 of 5 rows – SUPER. We arrived at Manchester Airport 17/5/2013. Check in – absolutely fanastic but we noticed that we were booked on row 1 Fast track didn’t happen as our son uses a wheelchair. When we got to the Gate we noticed it was a First Choice plane (Nightmare). We flew with First Choice 9 years ago and we said never again. We were told that we would be boarded first because we were Premium Customers, it was like a free for all. If our son hadn’t been in a wheelchair who knows when we would have got boarded. We were told that there was 31 seats in the cabin, in fact there was 63. During the flight we had children and adults climbing over our feet to get to the one toilet available. Supposedly our meals should have been served on a tray individually and not from a trolley. WRONG AGAIN. The food left a lot to be desired ( Even the cabin crew told us to complain about the food).
    Return flight TOM 127 31/5/2013
Arrived at Sanford Airport only to be told that they were sorry but there was no Premium Seats on this plane but there will be a row of empty seats behind us to give us space as other Premium customers had been allocated extra seating. We were also informed that we would be refunded for our inconvenience ( Two weeks later we are still waiting). The plane had not even got off the ground before we had a child sat behind us kicking our seats. The cabin crew were fantastic and tried to make the best out of a bad situation. Our meals were served to us on a tray with proper cutlery and glassware which we didn’t get on the way out.
All in all these flights of Thomsons have been a very expensive nightmare and we will never fly First Choice / Thomsons again.

I have commented before on Thomson/First Choice/Thomas Cook airlines. Bearable for a 2/3 hour hop to the Med, but for these 9+ hour flights to Florida/Mexico/Goa etc avoid like the plague.

These are short haul airlines, with a short haul mentality and quite frankly judging by the above and many similar comments, it’s amazing they still get away with it.

Fly with BA or Virgin. They may have some issues, but are far more comfortable and land you at Orlando International Airport (MCO) rather than the charter airport at Sanford, which is miles away.

You get what you pay for……they are bucket and spade operators.

I have never understood people who pay for “cheap and cheerful” and when they get “cheap and cheerful” they complain??!!
