Taken away by bean-counters and high fuel prices – I know you all can add to this….

    A380
    747
US Airways A330 Business class 1-2-1
Delta MD-11 First Class -enough leg room in row 1 to have a party..
Caviar in F without feeling guilty
Propeller planes on short hops where you could arrive 10 minutes before departure
BA LHR Cconnections Centre when everything was fixed before you got there if something had gone wrong.
MAN-LHR 767 shuttle where the whole plane got a cooked breakfast in 30 minutes – wonderful choreography..

    I would add:
GIFTS – I used to have great gifts from Cathay, Christoffel silverware – Quality glassware – 30 year old whisky – Dinner invitations etc etc. Sadly no more

    BTW
I never feel guilty about eating Caviar in F – if I don’t eat it it will go into the garbage.
Propeller planes on short hops are still readily available in AU NZ Asia

** Being able to check in with JUST a passport

** For “airline schedules” not be a euphemism for “cancelations”

** An excuse free travel experience – please ditch the “due to covid 19… (excuses)

** Most importantly of all – I miss being able to travel freely to the 4 corners of the world without covid and war disrupting arrangements.

Concorde! As Jeremy Clarkson said on the last JFK/LHR flight; “one small step for man, one giant leap backwards for mankind”.

I never missed Concord – small seats – small cabin – strange people.

Increasingly, the opportunity to walk from terminal to aircraft. While air bridges are massively convenient, there is a separate charm to walking on the tarmac, sizing up the aircraft at close range & climbing the mobile stairs.

A selection of things such as:

Sensibly priced tickets on many carriers
Satay on SIA (was missing in Bus last time I flew)
    Travel to HKG
Newspapers on flights/lounges (and Business Traveller or course!)
The lack of fear that there is a high chamce that your short haul flight is going to be cancelled at short notice.

    An oldie’s list

Concorde – like flying a sports car version of a 737 but great fun to feel the thrust of the afterburners kicking in.

    Landing at HK Kai Tak

The upper deck of 747s being a lounge.

I miss being able to book and take a flight without worrying about testing and mask regulations at a destination. Spontaneity has certainly taken a hit.
    Oh and 747s

    And:
The PanAm helicopter from Idlewild (JFK) to the top of the Park Avenue PanAm building, and then to Newark.
Jump seat in an Air canada L1011 (sigh) LHR-VCR.
