Strange availability in J and F for BA for 2019 bookings?

    I know I will need to be in the USA next June 2019.

    I went onto BA.com and looked at, say, to JFK from LHR on 5 June 2019 and returning on 17 June 2019. What I find is as follows.

    No seats selectable in F cabin. on any flight.

    If I select a J flight outbound and there is a wide selection on maybe 15 BA and AA flights, the only seats available on the Return are in Y+ (No J or F showing as availiable). These Y+ are available on all BA and AA flights.

    Conclude, there is something seriously wrong with the online booking system.

    I noted this problem last week and decided to check again today. Hence this is not a new situation.

    The problem appears to be with the interface between the hosting system and the pathetic website as there clearly is availability in F. It may be that you are somewhere from where they have elected to limit or close sales in the F cabin.

    I tried SKYSCANNER.net and for the above dates I can see availability with BA in J on these dates. I clicked through to the booking (with the Airline) and low and behold, the booking appeared on the BA website (J availability on both legs).

    I returned to http://www.ba.com and tried to make the same booking but still not availability.

    This is IMHO shocking.

    Yes, I agree. The customer facing IT systems are a disgrace.

    @SwissExPat – have you tried changing the country on your BAEC to see if the results are different.. and whether that enables you to book…

    I will try this on Mrs ExPat Laptop later.

    In the meantime, I tried the same dates on my iPhone using the BA app.

    Same situation. No availability in J or F.

    I’ve just had a look at the dates you mentioned and found a lot of availability for F at GBP1690 outbound and GBP1544 returning.

    There was also a lot of J availability.
