Yes, dengue in Madeira! A very nasty illness, “break-bone fever” in the old days, not because it breaks your bones, it just feels as though it has.
Must be my bad luck – I was sprayed again, this time on Egyptair from Cairo to Paris. They claimed that an announcement was made, but I never heard it – probably because the English of the flight announcements was generally not at all clear.
The requirement to spray an aircraft originating in Cairo is doubtful. The only recent report of any anthropod-borne illness in Egypt that I can find is a very few cases of malaria in the South – about 400+ km from Cairo.
One of the nasty features was the way that some of the French passengers on board found it amusing that I was distressed. Merde aux grenouilles.
On my trips to Nairobi, BA have sprayed the cabin … at least in economy class! Luckily they gave enough warning so passengers at risk could cover eyes, noses and mouths.
Well, this is very rude. Altleast flight staff need to take care of passengers problem. They can do the spraying before and after the passenger comes and goes. Some passengers find it difficult to breathe when spraying and it is absolutely not good for health. Once they should do the cleaning and pest control process with Exterminator Armonk
arthropods can, surprise, surprise, lurk inside passenger carry-ons. These are not opened and penetrance of sprays will be non-existent. The whole spray effort is another example of “pretending to do something”.
