Anyone reading the Australian travel press will realise that there has been a major change to the Skywards reward programme. Apparently this is to equate’ the ‘benefits’ between Skywards and the Qantas FFP.
Yes folks,, Emirates have introduced the notorious and arbitrary fuel surcharge for reward flights. This latest ‘enhancement’ to the Skywards scheme is yet another blow to the once excellent Emirates FFP.
    Loyalty? Pah.

It appears a means by EK to claw back additional revenue from its loyal frequent flyers. Jet fuel has effectively dropped in price for the last year so I cannot see the justification for applying the charges? Perhaps the EK Fuel hedges were all wrong and they are having to get money for their wrong positions and ineptude?
