Severe ECML disruption today (July 10)

    The ECML (East Coast Mainline) is currently closed on the main stretch between Peterborough and Grantham.

    All trains are at a standstill. Many thousands of travellers are stranded.

    This will affect three mainline operators, LNER/Hull Trains/Grand Central, plus the cross country services operated by East Midlands Trains.

    LNER is telling travellers, where possible, to postpone their journeys until tomorrow.

    There is currently no indication as to when this stretch of line will reopen.
