Qatar Airways A321 badly damaged

    Some of you may already have seen the news regarding this A321 which was damaged, possibly beyond repair, at Doha yesterday.

    According to AV Herald the A321 was having maintenance on its IFE system and satcom antenna.

    The pics show the resulting damage.

    Looks like a potential hull loss, to my amateur eyes.

    Mercifully no one was injured.

    They’ll have to call the A.I.B to investigate!

    This is the second similar hull loss QR have had.
    About 10 years ago an A300-600 was at AUH for a respray and they forgot the earthing. Went up in flames extremely quickly, and also the ensuing fire damaged many other aircraft around it. The only injury was to the sprayer who had to jump down from the aircraft and broke his ankle.
    Accidents happen, that is why they are called accidents!
