you cannot use the QF lounge unless you are flying on BA or QF now. the QF lounge is only open fro a coupe of hours early afternoon, and from 1700-2400. the exception is that if the lounge of the One World airline you are flying is closed that may let you in, but with CX open for 18 hours, this will not happen in Bangkok or Hong Kong..
Sorry, donkeyasia, but that is completely incorrect. I used the QF lounge very recently when flying on CX, and the BA lounge last year.
Under oneworld rules, when flying on any oneworld airline EITHER in a premium cabin OR with oneworld status which allows lounge access, you can use ANY oneworld carrier lounge of the appropriate class subject to limited exceptions. NONE of those exceptions would permit QF to refuse access to their lounge in BKK.

AndyThailand says he is travelling business class (so qualifies on basis of class travelled). He also says he is Silver with QR, equivalent to oneworld ruby, which won’t give him oneworld lounge access. However, based on his class of travel, he will be able to access ANY business class lounge in BKK (or HK) operated by a oneworld airline – including QF’s lounge.
AndyThailand, I suggest you print out the access rules and keep a copy with you, and if the lounge staff give you any grief, politely and firmly stand your ground and demand access.
