Does anyone know of an offline route planner? Until now I have used Microsoft AutoRoute CD, but the CD is not accepted by my new PC.

I know there are online route planners, but non compare with the Microsoft product, which can advis about hotels along a route or near a point. You can save each route that you plan, and refer back to it years later.

I use ViaMichelin FaroFlyer which I find brilliant as it also shows Michelin recommended hotels and restaurants. Not sure if it works offline though but you can print your route out.

Otherwise Google Maps let you plan and save an itinerary for use offline on your phone or tablet.
