I remember the disco downstairs next to the casino entrance. That was always great fun and most evenings there was a decent crowd there.
I’d have thought they could at least offer 50% discount to original members and no joining fee. Seems like the could do with the business? Or maybe those who were in their 20’s and 30’s when it closed and are now in their 60’s and 70’s are no longer seen by the new owners as hip enough!
I shall keep my card anyway and I think I’ve got a few chips somewhere. I certainly have a Bunny tail as well as a few packs or playing cards.
I spent much of my early career in Casinos (working) and still have some contacts in it. London Clubs first choice was not the Playboy brand but was Virgin. However they were turned down by Virgn on the basis that Virgin did not want their brand involved in gaming. This seemed an odd stance as in the late eighties Virgin looked seriously at putting a blackjack table and dealer on their 747,s.
