    All trains north of East Croydon are cancelled due to signal problems, into London Victoria. A bus replacement service for the million people who normally travel on this line every morning has been arranged according to local news. Yeah right!!
    With the driver shortage on Southern Trains this must come as mannah from heaven to Southern management. Every day they have to invent a reason for delayed and cancelled trains when the real reason is simply not enough drivers. Of course the glorious weather, and the World Cup, has nothing to do with the increased employee sickness that Southern is experiencing!
    Having given the train drivers a massive pay increase in March they cannot afford to employ more.
    At least the Gatwick Express is downgraded to normal fares until the end of Sept. Please, please don’t get caught buying a Gatwick Express extortionate ticket. The cheaper Southern tickets are accepted on the Gatwick Express….except today as all the Gatwick Express services are cancelled!!!
    Avoid Gatwick…at all costs.

    Just seen on news that there has been an ‘earthquake’ at LGW.

    That will be such a great excuse for the railways and the airlines for the next ….. year or so?

    As a south coaster I am in touch with my MP on almost a daily basis. She is pushing hard for loss of franchise but is battling against;

    1. Incompetent transport secretary promoted beyond his capability.

    2. Rail company buffoons like Nick Brown and Charles Horton.

    3. Network Rail that rewards its CEO for failure with a gong.

    A total fiasco.

    Now being reported that the Victoria disruption could last until 0700 tomorrow.

    …..further to this problem, ongoing this morning, there will not be a train service, at all, on Sunday south of Gatwick to Brighton/Eastbourne. Derelict Buses are offering a replacement bus service from 3 Bridges. To avoid the bus journey, it is possible to use the frequent Portsmouth service and change at Barnham to go back along the coast to Brighton. Will it ever end?!
