openflyParticipantSouthern Railway have announced that, as from Sept 1st, only tickets purchased for Southern Trains will be valid on their services. If your ticket says Thameslink it will not be valid on Southern. How friggin ridiculous! Southern, Thameslink and Gatwick Express belong to the same company, Govia.
Govia have treated their passengers with utter disdain over the last few years. They haven’t a clue with regard to customer service.
So make sure that you know whether your ticket is for both Southern and Thameslink. The shambles continues with the use of Oyster Cards….who knows!?22 Aug 2018

So just reverting to what it was pre-June. This is a legacy issue dating back to the time that they were different franchises which could offer their own fares and retain all the income.
But badly in need of overhaul I agree.

capetonianmParticipantIt sounds like the sort of disjointed incoherent user-unfriendly transport policy that the French would have dreamed up.
GX is clearly no longer a Premium service so I can’t understand why they don’t just harmonize the fares and access across all operators and come up with a more regular and frequent service.
