FDOS_UKParticipant
Well just last night flying to Madrid from Alicante on Air Nostrum, for the most part an airline I enjoy flying, we started to taxi and I had to point out to the cabin crew the fasten seat belt sign was not on. Panic ensued, a quick to the flight deck and “Ding Dong” on it came. So much for the pre flight check list
Maybe they were in the middle of it and had to break off for an ATC or despatch message and picked up from the wrong place- that’s always very dodgy, even when flying a little aircraft with simple checklist. No excuse, though, that’s one of the reasons why there are two of them, to cross check each other’s actions.

GivingupBAParticipantI always listen to safety briefings carefully even though I have just spent decades flying loads of places – [1] because it’s important, and [2] out of respect for the crew.
I saw the BA safety briefing twice on flights in April. I thought [1] it was far too long, and [2] too culturally bound (making it hard to understand for some people I think).

Oh my God give it a rest….Have you written to BA from your soapbox or do you enjoy monopolising a forum. I understand your comments and everybody will have their differences but please take up philately or yoga!!

David Arnold, is there any particular reason you engage in personal attacks?
No-one forces anyone to read any comment on here and your crass attempts at censoring are not inline with the forum spirit.

alainboy56Participant@rferguson. I am going to have to declare what an ignoramus I am and ask who is Olivia Coleman? Its ok, fellow contributors to this forum, no need to respond.
I do not live in the UK so I am not up to scratch in popular culture. I do read English newspapers especially The Sunday Times and The Telegraph now and again, but I guess she, whoever she is, would not probably crop up too many times in those broadsheets. If I’m sufficiently interested I will google her, but not anytime soon.28 Jun 2018

capetonianmParticipantI’ve never heard of Olivia Coleman either.
If that trailer is in the same style as the safety video, I’d have lost interest or switched off in disgust after 10 seconds. No idea who the flamboyant fellow is, can barely understand him (I am a native English speaker) and I think it’s a sad reflection if BA are wasting more money on this useless drivel when they should be investing in looking after customers in many areas where they currently fail to do so.
At least Joanna Lumley and Sir Michael Caine (yes, I’ve heard of both of them) speak proper English.

openflyParticipant@Capetonianm …. I am told that BA do not pay for this horror. It’s paid for by the Relief “charity”. This is a company specialising in high profile begging, as on this and the previous video. The company called Relief has 289 staff and needs an income of £18m before a penny goes to the deserving kids! When they say on the current offering that “the kids get every penny of your donations”…not strictly true!
Of course BA wouldn’t pay for it if they can get something for free….1 user thanked author for this post.

capetonianmParticipantI am glad (but not surprised!) to learn that BA aren’t paying for this appalling video, however it remains unfit for purpose.
‘Unfit for purpose’ would seem to be a fitting slogan for the airline itself. It applies to its IT systems, many of its aircraft, its CEO (from whence come most of the problems) its catering, some of its customer facing staff (although many remain outstanding despite the low morale) ) and its attitude to customers.
I can remember when I was in positions where I was able to influence the travel budgets and decisions of various people and organisations, that I used to sell BA with pride and confidence, and I would do a lot of my own travel on BA for the same reasons. That changed years ago, I think the time I started to lose confidence was about the mid 90s although it’s hard to pinpoint.

mkcol74ParticipantFrom some of your responses it seems you’re thinking Olivia Colman is from the Love Island or Big Brother genre. Nothing could be further from the truth as a quick search would have shown.

MartynSinclairParticipantIf the safety video can be ‘auctioned’ – surprised it has not been sponsored or offered to a major brand… good, continual exposure….
