VintageKrugParticipantPlease desist with the pathetic and childish namecalling, SimonS1.
It is feeble behaviour for a supposed Business website.

You posted an article about Lufthansa Group, I compared this to IAG – please confirm IAG’s result, so the comparison is like for like.
Lufthansa Group is all of their businesses, inluding the poorer performers.

VintageKrugParticipantIt’s quite obvious the lunatics have taken over the asylum.

HamewilldaymeParticipantMy airlines better than your airline Nah nah nah! I thought the moaning about not having a choice of crisps or whether the biscuits were wrapped or in a jar was bad enough!

VintageKrugParticipantThe level of engagement on this site has sometimes been low.
But the namecalling a childishness seen since Thursday 6th when HT returned and emboldened his cohorts – or who knows they could all be him! – has plumbed new depths.

millionsofmilesParticipantYes, but isnt it BAs fault to buy BMI from LH…..knwoing they would incur losss there, too? LH kept MBI alive for quite some time…but BA wanted the slots…so…..If you cant swallow, dont bite!
And I said before that figures like operating profit and such are nice…but what counts is the BA group result.

JohnHarperParticipantI think where LH went wrong with BD was not clearing out the management at the hall and putting in a whole new team. BD’s customer facing staff were excellent and many were dreading being swallowed up by BA where they saw no opportunities to shine and excel. If they wanted to work for BA many could have done years before but they chose to stay with BD. In the end, any job was better than none so they went to BA but not many are glad about it.
Listening to them and putting in effective management would have saved BD in all probability. Instead LH allowed the madness of the beancounters at the hall to continue instead of applying a more rigorous approach which one might have expected of LH.

millionsofmilesParticipantAbsolutely right, regarding BD.
With Swissair, LH put in a complete new top management, kept the operational people…and kept the high standards instead of bean couting. SWISS is an extremely profitable subsidiary of LH nowadays.

I’m in the F lounge at the moment too, just had some pistachios and a G&T, moving on to an antipasta plate of freshly sliced parma ham and similar things and then I’m expecting a steak cooked to order. There is a wide choice of puddings and cheese. The atmosphere is very peaceful and rather exclusive. All in all, a top notch experience.Respectfully, could you please post on topic?
In what configuration were the biscuits displayed? Were they hermetically sealed or loose for all to finger and prod?
Thanks for your valued insight.
Rgds.

Henkel.TrockenParticipantWell, here in the F terminal there were so many biscuits and cakes it would take too long to describe them all! I know other airlines claim to offer an F service at their European hubs but there is nothing quite like a dedicated terminal which offers an unmatched experience for the airline’s most valued customers and somehow when you fly LH you can believe it.
I’ve had a very pleasant afternoon taking a bath and having a snooze and now I shall have a little dinner chosen from the extensive menu before my PA who has taken care of all my paperwork and dealt with a number of jobs for me during the afternoon comes and escorts me downstairs to the border control where I know the officers on duty will be pleasant and smiling and they will wish me a pleasant trip before I’m driven to the A380 by Porsche and escorted personally on board from the car.
As it’s Lufthansa and the food is rather good, I may have a little more dinner before I retire to sleep as one of eight passengers in the F cabin which has sound proofed partitions and quite substantial sliding doors to reduce noise from the C cabin and I’m sure I will arrive relaxed in SIN tomorrow afternoon.

millionsofmilesParticipantEsselle,
absolutely! And the cigar lounge is not the usual windowless concrete cage, but a glass covered club-like room with leather chairs, bar and a great view on the runways.
The whole lounge is a real ShangriLa….great for relaxation, savoring delicous food, tasting about 100 single malts on offer and and and.and friendly personal concierges who take care. All of them have had experience as flight attendant (as far as I know).

JohnHarperParticipantIndeed, the standard of PAs in the LH F terminal is very high, I think they were recruited from senior grades of cabin crew who for whatever reason no longer wished to fly but who LH wished to retain because of their skills. It really does show because these people are unmatched IME. I understand they all speak at least three languages fluently and must have an appropriate knowledge of at least three more. I suppose another European airline would be looking at the same people wanting to make them redundant to replace them with more mixed up cabin crew but of course as ever, quality costs and LH crew know how to deliver quality.
I wish I was there too, from the moment you walk through the door the experience is superb and there is no competitor.
